Welcome to La Leche League West Sussex

La Leche League (pronounced 'La lay-chay' - 'the milk' in Spanish) is an international organisation founded in 1956 by seven women who wanted to help their friends who were interested in breastfeeding.

Its mission is to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, education, information, and encouragement and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and the mother.

LLL West Sussex runs meetings across the county to try to ensure as many mothers as possible have access to our support.

See our meeting page for dates and locations, and for more about what happens at an LLL meeting. The group has an extensive library of books for loan to mothers, slings and carriers to try along with a wealth of other information on offer.
